Bioware You Vex Me

Bioware why do you taunt me so?

Having participated in the SWTOR weekend tests, I do think that I would love to play this game, at least running one of classes through the story to the end. But I cannot. Australia is not in the list of launch territories. I even checked with my local EB Games the other day, and they don’t have a date at all for the Star Wars The Old Republic release in Oz.

So it is looking like post February for an Aussie release.

So it is quite vexxing to receive an email from Bioware saying that if I can preorder I can get into the early access. They even provide a preorder link. Of course if I do try to preorder, EA Origin will stop me.

I’m getting a copy through a Philippine game store franchise ordering a shipment from the US. Will be pricier but hell… worth it. 😀

Try having a copy shipped? Or if you have the 11/25 beta client, I can buy two copies and you can patch your client up to the launch version and I can give you the code provided you can reimburse me.

Thanks Victor, I appreciate the offer. I’ll decline though since I do have too much to do at the moment. While it’s frustrating to not be able to join in at launch, and irritating to be sent an offer I can’t take up, I’ve just picked up a project that will require some work over the Christmas break. If I could buy SWTOR I might find myself playing and not working.

Heyo. Understood. You have more self-control than I.

Stay safe and be well! 😀

That sucks, but it is good you have a project. Launch is just a frustrating mess anyways and with an early access that WILL cause drama, it’s probably best to wait.

@Victor — Self control. Hmmm. Enforced by circumstances I’d say.

@Scary — I suspect that this launch will not be as smooth as other recent games. I experienced more than one server crash in beta on 2 consecutive weekends, as well as some client issues. I’m of the opinion that the release is a tad early, so yeah, it is probably best to wait.

But that requires patience… and discipline… Gah!
