@Super Ally - Thanks, I am well, if not feeling the cold! It's good to see you're going to play. Why don't you head over to the Casualties and check out the guild? End of shameless guild pimping.

A well presented and successful launch could be a bad thing for AoC. I guess it depends on the current state of the game. I haven't really followed how it's doing since I left.

@Rick - Speak for yourself! Don't ya know I hang around the plumbing supplies at the local hardware store interrogating the customers on their favorite choice of fittings. I'm thinking of starting a blog...

None of our predictions were really all that far away from each other. I figure it's a case where we are in the ballpark or all wildly off. But I think one thing is for sure, as long as the prelaunch chat coming from bloggers and beta testers doesn't pan the game, it will do well and Mythic will make a decent wad of cash.

@DM - The reason is that your friend just simply wants to keep playing WoW. Which is fair enough. I've found that even the most elaborate excuses are code for "I don't want to." From what I understand, if a computer can play WoW it can play WAR.

I think there are going to be a lot of people that just want to keep playing WoW. It's their first MMOG and they like it, and that's cool. WAR will get all those that want a change and find the gameplay fits them.

It's funny isn't it when you speak to people you know that still play WoW or another MMO, you get the feeling they have more to lose than players not playing a current MMO.

I dug deeper with one such friend & he said the system requirements for WAR seem high compared to WoW. For that reason he will be sticking to WoW - made me wonder if this would keep WAR sales close to your prediction?

Hiya Stropp! It's fun to go through the process of trying to figure out the sales, isn't it? Only because it's a game, though. If we were talking about selling plumbing supplies, I'd want to shoot myself before predicting sales number.

I went low with my prediction because Tobold and Syn had already gone high. I can see a world where you're correct, and Tobold is correct. I'd love it if Syn's prediction is right, but man, that's a lot of copies of an PvP game.

The good news is, even if I turn out to be right, Mythic should make a lot of cash, and that'd make me happy. They deserve the success.

hey stropp hope your well, im falling under the been burned before so may wait..... nah who am i kiddin I'll buy it on release :)

I really hope this game does well and is released in a state which doesnt damage the game, iv not really kept tabs on the beta but have high expectations.

Id go along with your predictions altho if it gets rave reviews i do expect people to leave the likes of conan and even WoW to get a little taster, if they stay for longer than a month is another question
