Stargate Worlds Trailer
Posted by Stropp on January 6, 2008Here is the Stargate Worlds trailer that was shown on SciFi channel on Friday night during the season premiere of Stargate: Atlantis. Courtesy of Sweet Flag and Massively.
The one thing I am really happy about is that the developers are not limiting themselves to the stories as presented in the series.
That’s not to say that the game won’t tie in. There will be strong story links and quests related to the Replicator war, the conflict with Apophis, the Jaffa civil war and other ‘known’ events.But the gate offers infinite possibilities.The only stories we really see in the series are those related to the adventures of SG1. However, there are 15 SG Teams that regularly patrol, and sometimes get caught out by Black Holes, and other nasties.
When the game releases there will be way more than 15 teams going through the gate, and lots of opportunities for possibilities. This game sounds cool. (Yes I’m an optimist.) There’s even talk that the first expansion will take players to the Pegasus galaxy. Watch out for those Wraith.
The beta is supposed to occur in the northern spring, with the release happening in the fall. The pricing is being set at a standard fifteen dollars a month.
I reckon this is one to look forward to.
If you’re looking forward to it, what species do you intend to play; Human, Goa’uld, Asgard, Rebel Jaffa, or Loyal Jaffa?

Thought the trailer a little weak really…the development sounds interesting enough & SG seems an ideal MMORPG vehicle. Thanks for the link.
I agree. With all the buildup, the trailer could have been a lot better. If they’d done a WoW style trailer, there would be huge interest generated.
I’m definitely looking forward to this one. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get into the beta when it opens.
