Ding! 62
Posted by Stropp on January 3, 2008It didn’t take anywhere close to the amount of time it took me to get from 60 to 61.
Even taking into account the actual amount of time played, I think I managed to scream through 61 much faster. And that was with taking my time to read and understand the story of the quests before accepting them.
Today’s session took just over six hours all up. Most of that time was just doing quests in Zangarmarsh with only a brief visit to Hellfire Peninsula to deliver a message. I effectively finished up the evening by checking in with a couple of NPCs in Terrokar Forest and then getting the portal in Shattrath City to Orgrimmar. I wanted to train my level 62s.
I mentioned the last time that I had trained up a Ravager. I finished up that session without the little fellow increasing in loyalty. I didn’t have to worry about it today since he bumped up in the first ten minutes of fighting, and kept dinging loyalty up to Faithful. I expect that the next session will see him becoming my best friend. I really should come up with a name for him.
I put most of those points into Natural Armor, and also trained Bite and a dodge skill (can’t recall what it’s called at the moment.) He’s been doing very well so far tanking for me, but there have been a couple of deaths. I’m not sure wether I’ll put the remainder into Great Stamina, or Arcane Resistance. The mages do seem to cut through his armor, so AR might be the go.
I still have a ton of quests in my Quest Log, and a bunch of them are in Hellfire Peninsula. So that will be my next stop. I’ll finish up those quests, and then go back into Zangarmarsh. With the number of quests that are left in that zone, I reckon I’ll hit 63 before I finish them. Then it will be on to Terrokar Forest.

Grats!

Im an aggonising 3 bars away from 70 so will level at the weekend, then………. emmmm i dont know what I’ll do, there aint much point in getting uber gear as the patch is released soonish. Perhaps i will try get a drake or just rack up my pvp points for when i hit 80.
I would recommend by the way you dont spend too long in one area or worry about finishing all the quests (unless they have good items), i was about lvl 66 when id completed both Hellfire and Zangarmarsh and i was sick to the back teeth of them.
Let me know how you get on oh and did you download auctioneer? and get that Rogue levelled!!!
Thanks Super Ally.
I look forward to hearing what you decide to do when you hit 70. I understand about not going for gear, but the general consensus is that the expansion is at least later this year. I suspect either 6 months to screw with Warhammer, or November to get in the Christmas shopping season. Either way you’ve got a few months to enjoy the uber gear.
I’d forgotten about the Rogue. Hmmm. Should I get Stropp to 70, or level the Rogue?
Well i finally got to 70 woooooooooo!
Iv pretty much decided im going to try complete as many quests as i can to get the extra gold during weekdays when i play and do pvp battlegrounds at the weekend. This means i will hopefully squeeze in getting uber gear and a drake (costs 5000g *gulp*)
I would say level the rogue but man it must seem a lifetime away. I believe blizzard have made it easier to level between 20-60 but im not too sure. Ach stick with your hunter as you will defo lose interest if you have to go far back and repeat the quests, twink the rogue tho.
happy new year and all the best
Congrats on hitting 70 Super Ally.
Even when I get to 70, I’m not sure I’ll bother with a flying mount, let alone an epic flying mount. I don’t even have my epic riding mount. Perhaps it’s my rebellious nature, but I just don’t want to grind out for that much gold. I personally think it’s bad design.
As for the rogue. well, lol, I already have a level 8 rogue called Switchblayde on Khaz, but over the weekend, in a fit of altitis, created a Belf Pally.
